The Port of Hong Kong is ranked the 10th largest port in the world and is quickly growing in importance as a strategic hub port in Asia.

1913

Still active in shipbuilding and repair, the company builds the largest Chinese ship ever to be listed in the prestigious Lloyd's Register. The 'Ningshin' is an enormous 2,006 tonne vessel.

1888

The Hongkong & Whampoa Dock Company owns and operates the ‘largest dock in the East’, the Admiralty Dock. With a length of 550 feet, the Admiralty Dock is capable of handling the largest vessels afloat at the time.

1886

The Felixstowe Dock & Railway Company in the UK, the predecessor of the PFL, establishes itself as a provider of maritime and rail services.

1870

With an eye on expansion, the company acquires dock facilities in Hunghom and Tai Kok Tsui to provide cargo handling services.

1866

The Hongkong & Whampoa Dock Company is established as the 1st Registered Company in Hong Kong. At the time, the Company is actively involved in shipbuilding and repair services.
