The Felixstowe Dock & Railway Company in the UK, the predecessor of the PFL, establishes itself as a provider of maritime and rail services.

With an eye on expansion, the company acquires dock facilities in Hunghom and Tai Kok Tsui to provide cargo handling services.

The Hongkong & Whampoa Dock Company is established as the 1st Registered Company in Hong Kong. At the time, the Company is actively involved in shipbuilding and repair services.
