XICT Purchases Two New Quay Cranes

[27 February 2004 – Hong Kong] – Xiamen International Container Terminals (XICT) has announced the purchase of two super post-Panamax quay cranes to further strengthen the terminal’s productivity as well as enhance the competitiveness of the Haicang Port Zone.

Each quay crane has a 56-metre (21-row) wide outreach, a 45-tonne lifting capacity and a lifting height of 38 metres, capable of accommodating the latest generation of container vessels (8,000-plus TEU). With the new equipment, XICT will boast a total of eight quay cranes, all supported by an upgraded IT system. Catering to the needs of XICT’s customers, this investment will serve to further enhance XICT’s operational efficiency and productivity.
