Commenting on the agreement, John Meredith, Group Managing Director of HPH, said, “The investment in CTE will help strengthen HPH’s presence in Northern Europe through the addition of extra container-handling capacity.
The agreement constitutes a share swap of Evergreen’s interest in Taranto Container Terminal for a minority stake interest in London Thamesport (LTP) and ECT Delta.
The agreement also paves the way for HPH to develop new container-handling facilities at the Port of Nynäshamn, Norvikudden, approximately 60 kilometres south of Stockholm.
YPG and HPH signed their first joint venture agreement in 1993. With the construction and completion of each new phase, the relationship of the partners has grown in strength.
The new terminal is located at Rotterdam’s Maasvlakte directly on the North Sea. It has a total area of 84 hectares with a quay length of 1,500 metres, and offers an annual capacity of 2.3 million TEU.

The Branch Line connects Felixstowe to the national rail network, and the works form part of the overall scheme to increase capacity at Britain’s leading container port.
HIT is the first terminal operator in Hong Kong to deploy eRTGCs, the project is part of a wider range of initiatives that HIT has launched in recent years to help protect the environment.

The first 440 metres of quay are scheduled to be available by April 2010, with the entirety of Phase I being fully operational by September of that year.
