Hutchison Port Holdings (HPH) signed an agreement today with Baulderstone, signaling the immediate commencement of civil works at Berth 11, the Port of Brisbane’s newest container terminal.
A company will soon be established to operate the container terminal in Ajman Port – the 52nd port in the HPH network of ports – for a concession period of 10 years.
The Port of Felixstowe, the UK’s largest container port, will formally open a new deep water shipping terminal on 28 September 2011.
Sydney Ports Corporation Chairman, Bryan Smith said that the appointment of HPH, which is also the operator of the new third container terminal at Port Botany, was a major milestone in the intermodal project.
HIT is one of only five companies in Hong Kong to have received this prestigious recognition from the OSHC, a statutory body established in 1988 for promoting safety and health in the workplace.
The new machines, delivered yesterday, bring to 136 the total number of RTGCs at Hong Kong’s leading container terminal.
