Another Record Breaker at the Port of Felixstowe

The largest container ship to call in North Europe so far has made its maiden call at the Port of Felixstowe.

The 20,568 TEU Madrid Maersk, operated on the 2M NEU2 Asia to Europe service, has arrived at the port with over 6,000 TEU for the UK loaded in China and Malaysia.

New Rail Service from BEST to Miranda de Ebro

Hutchison Ports BEST, member of the Hutchison Ports group, is pleased to announce the launch of the first rail service that connects the Catalan capital with Miranda de Ebro in the northern region of the Iberian Peninsula. This new regular service with a capacity of 72 TEU will be managed by the logistics operator, Hutchison Logistics Spain, will gradually increase in frequency in the coming months.

Hutchison Ports Signs Operating Contract for Norvik Port

On 17 February, Hutchison Ports has signed a formal agreement with Ports of Stockholm to operate the container terminal under construction at Stockholm Norvik Port.

The new port, which is near Nynäshamn 60km south of the Swedish capital, will have better access, deeper water and greater capacity than the city-centre facilities it will replace.

Hutchison Ports FCP receives new equipment as efforts continues to restore operations

On 20th January, Hutchison Ports FCP received two new Super Mobile Harbour Cranes as part of its post-Hurricane Matthew efforts to quickly restore full terminal operations. These new harbour cranes are capable of handling large container vessels and will restore FCP handling volume to approximately sixty percent. They have been put into commission in 10 days and are now operating.

Update on Hanjin Shipping Incident

Since the filing for receivership by Hanjin Shipping at Seoul District Court on 31 August 2016, Hongkong International Terminals Limited (HIT) has, without delay, set up a dedicated team and provided emergency services to assist shippers and forwarders to efficiently retrieve Hanjin containers. HIT has so far helped affected parties to retrieve more than 1,500 Hanjin containers, with approximately 400 inbound and outbound containers awaiting handling.
