Florida Cruise Association to Play Santa at the Lucayan Harbour Cruise Facility

06-Dec-2000

Freeport, Grand Bahama – 5th December 2000] The Lucayan Harbour Cruise Facility will again play host to the Florida Caribbean
Cruise Association and their annual gift-giving treat for underprivileged children on Grand Bahama. The event will be held this coming Tuesday morning when some 200 children from various schools on the island will get an early Christmas present.

Mr. Mike Power, General Manager, Lucayan Harbour, Freeport Harbour Company is happy that the FCCA continues to utilize these
facilities for such a noble venture.

“To bring happiness and cheer to so many children during the special time of the year is indeed a very touching display of concern and compassion displayed annually by the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association.”

“Our facilities have recently been upgraded and improved with a $10.6 million re-development program, inclusive of a new terminal with centralized check-in facilities, a 256,000 sq. ft. landscaped retail village with a Bahamian Straw Market and a more efficient transportation layout for buses and taxis,” said Mr. Power.

The FCCA, and those visiting the facility for the special display of Christmas cheer, will find the Lucayan Harbour Cruise Facility a friendly and pleasant experience.

The gift-giving event is being coordinated by the Grand Bahama Island Tourism Board.

In another week, the facility will be fully decorated for the season. On December 11th a special presentation will be held when straw vendors will be recognized for their efforts in enhancing the area for the season. Their hand made ornaments will be displayed on Christmas trees and in concert with Discovery Cruises, the winning team will be rewarded.
