JICT Donates US$100,000 to Central Java Earthquake Victims

30-May-2006

[Jakarta – 30 May 2006] Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT), a joint venture between Hutchison Port Holdings (HPH) and P.T. Pelabuhan Indonesia II (PELINDO II), through its “JICT Care” programme will contribute US$100,000 in cash to the victims affected by this tragedy. Furthermore, JICT has announced it would waive all handling charges on containers bringing relief supplies to the affected areas.

Bambang Bhakti, President Director of JICT commented, “The management and employees of JICT express our deepest condolences to the victims and their families who died in the earthquake. Our donation is small compared to the size of the damage that the earthquake has done but I believe if everyone of us joins hands together to support what we can, hopefully the survivors will be able to rebuild their lives as soon as possible.”
