SCT Celebrates 10th Anniversary

[12 August 2003 – Hong Kong] – Shanghai Container Terminals (SCT), a member of Hutchison Port Holdings (HPH), celebrated its 10th anniversary in Shanghai today with representatives from over 100 companies in the shipping and maritime industry.

Henry Wah, General Manager of SCT, commented, “Over the past decade, Shanghai has developed at a remarkable pace. SCT is pleased to have participated in the development of the Port of Shanghai. SCT’s annual throughput now exceeds 3 million TEU; this is three times the throughput recorded in its first year of operations.”

Han Gang, Deputy General Manager of SCT, said, “Looking to the future, SCT will continue to meet the demands brought by Shanghai’s development. Offering world-class service, SCT fully supports the transformation of Shanghai into an international shipping hub.”

On behalf of SCT, John Meredith, Group Managing Director of HPH, donated RMB500,000 to the Shanghai Red Cross. He commented, “During the past ten years, we have been fortunate enough to witness the rebirth of one of the world’s greatest maritime cities. We are pleased to support a worthwhile foundation such as the Shanghai Red Cross.”
