HIT’s Container Terminal 9 North launches remote-controlled operations

Container Terminal 9 (CT9) North in Tsing Yi held an opening ceremony today to mark the launch of its remote-controlled rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGCs) and automated container stacking system. This landmark development made CT9 North the first container terminal in Hong Kong where all yard cranes are operated remotely and the stacking of containers is fully automated at yard.

BEST Raises its Game

Latest Expansion Begins at Port of Felixstowe

The Rt Hon Chris Grayling MP, Secretary of State for Transport, has officiated at a formal ground-breaking ceremony to mark the start of work on the latest phase of expansion at Hutchison Ports Port of Felixstowe.

Approximately 13 hectares of new paved container yard is to be constructed directly behind Berth 9 at the UK’s largest container port. The work will include the reclamation of 3.2 hectares of seabed.

Hutchison Ports Acquires 50% stake in TMA Logistics B.V.

Hutchison Ports has acquired a 50% shareholding in TMA Logistics B.V. (“TMA”).

TMA has a variety of general cargo terminal operations together with warehousing, shipping, logistics and project cargo activities at three sites in Amsterdam and one in Antwerp as well as at Hutchison Ports Amsterdam (formerly known as Amsterdam Container Terminals(ACT)).

Hutchison Ports Assumes Operation of Ahmed Bin Rashid Port in the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain

The Government of Umm Al Quwain and Hutchison Ports are pleased to announce that the Hong Kong based port operator has been awarded a concession to operate Ahmed Bin Rashid Port in Umm Al Quwain (UAQ), a key entry-exit point for container, general, Ro-Ro and bulk cargo in the northern United Arab Emirates.

Hutchison Ports Celebrates New Terminal Operation at Saqr Port in Ras Al Khaimah

Hutchison Ports is pleased to announce the official commencement of its terminal operation at Saqr Port in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah (RAK), located in the northern United Arab Emirates (UAE). Under the new concession agreement, concluded under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, Hutchison Ports will operate the facility for a period of 25 years. The terminal will operate under the name Hutchison Ports RAK.

Port of Felixstowe Rail Improvements Receive Go-ahead

The latest enhancements to Hutchison Ports Port of Felixstowe’s rail connections have been given the green light by the Secretary of State for Transport.

The £60.4m scheme, jointly funded by Network Rail and Hutchison Ports, will allow up to 47 freight trains to run per day in each direction between Ipswich and Felixstowe.

The Port of Felixstowe won the award for a combination of its innovation, focus on reducing CO2, improved safety and emphasis on rail, helping to reduce road congestion.

Latest Phase of Expansion at the Port of Felixstowe

A contract will be awarded today for the latest phase of expansion at Hutchison Ports Port of Felixstowe.

VolkerFitzpatrick Limited will be appointed to undertake the design and construction of approximately 13 hectares of paved container yard directly behind Berth 9. The work will include the reclamation of 3.2 hectares of seabed behind the existing finger pier.
