On 7 August 2001, YICT officially released its “Integrated Community System” (ICS) on its website http://www.yict.com.cn. Users may enter this address or http://ics.yict.com.cn:8001 from anywhere in the world to receive real-time information on container movement, vessel schedules and customs inspection status. ICS has been in use on YICT’s LAN (Local Area Network). Besides all its previous functions, the new version has been expanded to include user help and idle time control. Security has also been strengthened to ensure the protection of users’ data. The previous version will go offline by 6 September 2001.
