[25th March 2003 – Shanghai] – Hutchison Port Holdings (HPH) is pleased to announce today that Shanghai Container Terminals (SCT) celebrated its continuing success as it handled its 20 millionth container from COSCO’s vessel “KIKU”. SCT is the first enterprise to have achieved this record container throughput in the Mainland China.

Mr. Henry Wah, General Manager of SCT said,”This milestone in throughput was accomplished through the continuing support of our valued customers. In addition to offering our customers the best service possible, SCT is committed to the prosperity of Shanghai.”

SCT was founded on 12th August 1993. In 2002, SCT achieved a throughput of 3.05 million TEU.
