XICT Welcomes New “K” Line Direct Service

[3 May 2002 – Hong Kong] — Xiamen International Container Terminals (XICT) has become a port of call in the new PSW-1/AES-1 pendulum express service of Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha Limited (“K” Line).

The express service offers better transit time from Xiamen to Long Beach and Oakland (10 days and 14 days respectively). Deploying 12 post-panamax 5,500-TEU vessels, the service calls at XICT every Wednesday. COSCO, Hanjin Shipping and Yang Ming Line charter slots on this service.

The port routing of PSW-1/AES-1 service is Long Beach, Oakland, Kobe, Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Yantian, Singapore, Port Klang, Suez Canal, Port Said, Valencia, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Felixstowe, Antwerp, Valencia, Port Said, Suez Canal, Port Klang, Singapore, Yantian, Hong Kong, Xiamen and Long Beach.

Mr. Patrick Lam, General Manager of XICT commented, “We are pleased to have more international liners deploying service at XICT.
