As a network of ports that stretches across many countries and continents, we are committed to helping the people and investing in the communities and cities where we operate.
 
We've been running two flagship Community Investment Campaigns that focus on Education and Environmental Protection for decades. We are proud of the work we do.

Go Green

Go Green is part of a global environmental initiative undertaken by Hutchison Ports in partnership with members of the maritime community and local stakeholders such as government departments, NGOs and schools.  Every year, our employees take part and demonstrate their support for environmental protection through various campaigns and awareness activities, including tree-planting, beach trash clean-up, waste recycling and biodiversity conservation projects.  Read about Go Green in the past years.

 

EDUCATION

WE VALUE EDUCATION AND SEE THE YOUNG GENERATION AS FUTURE LEADERS OF OUR BUSINESS.

DOCK SCHOOL

Dock School was introduced in 1992.  It is designed to provide support and assistance to the schools in port’s vicinity especially those with financial challenges.  In addition to offering direct financial support and purchase of school facilities, our local teams also initiate a wide range of educational activities to provide learning outside the school that help to develop students’ potential such as terminal visits, training programmes, work placements, scholarships and environmental related activities.

IN 2023, WE CONTINUED OUR EFFORTS IN OUR COMMUNITIES BY ADDING NEW IDEAS TO THE TWO FLAGSHIP CAMPAIGNS.

GO GREEN AND DOCK SCHOOL

With an aim to raise the awareness about climate change among our staff and communities, a Go Green activity namely Hutchison Ports Global Climate Fresk Online Card Game was hosted in early March 2023. Through this game, we have a better understanding about climate change and its impact to the environment. 

Our business units were encouraged to organise their local Climate Action related and Decarbonisation activities and games for their staff members, Dock School students and the community stakeholders.

WHAT'S NEW IN 2024

To promote a culture of caring for our environment while achieving the goals we set out in our net-zero strategy, we would like to introduce a new Go Green Initiative, the “Our Oceans Project“, partnering with World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), our teams will organise a series of oceans related activities and climate change educational programmes for staff, Dock School students and members of our communities. These activities can help us learn more about how to protect our environment.
