SBTi Approves Hutchison Ports Near-Term and Net-Zero Targets
Hutchison Ports has recently obtained the approval from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for our submitted groupwise greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets and 2050 net-zero target. SBTi confirmed the conformity of our targets with their net-zero criteria. Our targets are in line with the trajectory to limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. Our approved targets are as follows:
Overall Net-Zero Target
Hutchison Port Holdings Limited commits to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across the value chain by 2050 from a 2021 base year.
Near-Term Targets
Hutchison Port Holdings Limited commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 54.6% by 2033 from a 2021 base year. Hutchison Port Holdings Limited also commits to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions 32.5% within the same timeframe.
Long-Term Targets
Hutchison Port Holdings Limited commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 90% by 2050 from a 2021 base year. Hutchison Port Holdings Limited also commits to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions 90% within the same timeframe.
